This auction is for one of the original paintings that artist Albert Ziëck has created as part of the ‘Airborne Collection’. A limited edition canvas of this painting can be bought here.
All proceeds from this auction will go to The Veterans’ Foundation.
About the painting
For this work, the artist primarily used palette knives to give the painting a rough, violent quality which reflects how fierce the battle was. The war’s chaos and destruction are at the forefront: fire, smoke, panic, paratroopers and airplanes, the collapsing city.
